Who is Capital City Chris:
Here’s the short version. I’m Chris. Originally from Montreal, now living in Ottawa. I spent the past seven years living in Toronto, but felt it was time for a change. I’m a writer by passion and by trade. But I also love to cook. Only one of these things helps me with my career. The other, well, that’s something else all together.
My background is in journalism, mainly radio and print. I’ve been published in several newspapers, been a movie critic and even had two regular columns. My radio career actually began back in high school when I started working with the the local Oldies station and sitting in during evening shows.
Since then I hosted my own morning show during my colleges days, worked for a country station in Toronto and been a contributor and an entertainment reporter for a weekly sports radio show in Montreal. I even found time to appear on the top-rated morning show in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
My passion has always been writing and now I’m back doing what I love most. I continue to write and blog and have decided to chronicle my move from Toronto and life in Ottawa. Which brings us to…

This site explores the ongoing challenges and experiences of someone who was born and raised in Montreal, spent the last seven years living in Toronto and has now relocated to Ottawa.
From changes in culture and lifestyle to changes in personal habits and home life, blog entries cover a wide variety of topics including many firsts as well as relevant information about Ottawa that others might find helpful.
Seen through the eyes of someone who is discovering the Capital for the first time as a resident of the city, this site aims to take the reader along for the ride and share personal thoughts and stories.
